Brock Simon (4-0) gave up four hits and struck out 10 in 6 1/3 innings for the win. Joe DeBernardis hit a two-run homer in the third and came in for the save to lead the Bears (23-6, 10-2).

Winning pitcher Shane Conlon (5-0) threw a complete game, giving up one earned run on seven hits while striking out six for the Mustangs (25-7). Conlon also had a two run single. John Pikes hit two doubles and scored both runs for St. Laurence (21-8).

Mike Gaffigan allowed four hits, walked one and struck out seven in five innings for the win. Bob Newman drove in two runs and Eric Duncan scored two runs for Sandburg (21-4).
Schaumburg 12, Palatine 1 (6) Dave Compitello was 2-for-5 with three RBIs for the Saxons (18-6). Winning pitcher George Kalousek (6-2) threw a two-hitter, striking out five. Kalousek was also 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Schaumburg clinched the Mid-Suburban West title.
