Farmers Insurance Presents the “2008 Bracket Challenge” Sweepstakes

Official Rules

NO PURCHASE OR ONLINE ENTRY NECESSARY. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.

  1. ELIGIBILITY: The sweepstakes is only open to legal residents of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa and Wisconsin, 21 years of age and older as of the date of entry. The following persons and their dependents are not eligible to enter or win: employees of Comcast SportsNet Chicago, LLC, Southwest Airlines Co. and Farmers Insurance Group Inc. and the parents, affiliates, subsidiaries and advertising and promotion agencies and the immediate families (spouse, parents, siblings and children) and members of household of each of the above.
  2. HOW TO ENTER: The sweepstakes will commence on Friday, March 14, 2008 upon posting and end on Friday, April 4, 2008 at 11:59 p.m. (CT). There are two ways to enter: either (i) complete the online registration for the “2008 Bracket Challenge” at http://chicago.comcastsportsnet.com and submit electronically or (ii) on a 3” x 5” postcard, postage prepaid, print or type your complete name, street address, city, state, zip code, day and evening telephone numbers, e-mail address (optional) and date of birth, and mail it to: Farmers Insurance Presents “2008 Bracket Challenge” Sweepstakes c/o Comcast SportsNet, 350 N. Orleans St., S1-100, Chicago, IL 60654. LIMIT ONE ENTRY PER PERSON, REGARDLESS OF METHOD OF ENTRY. Multiple entries, either online or by U.S. mail, will be disqualified. For online entries, you must supply a valid e-mail address to win. If the e-mail address supplied is not valid, your entry will be disqualified.
  3. HOW TO WIN: One (1) winner will be selected at random from all eligible entries. To qualify for the drawing, online entries must be received no later than 11:59 p.m. (CT) on Friday, April 4, 2008, and mail-in entries must be postmarked by Friday, April 4, 2008, and received on or before Tuesday, April 8, 2008. All mail-in entries postmarked after April 4, 2008, or received after April 8, 2008, will be invalid. One (1) winner will be drawn after 5:00 p.m. (CT) on Tuesday, April 8, 2008. Sponsors reserve the right to delay the prize drawing. Winner will be notified via e-mail and/or telephone. Winner must respond to e-mail or voice-mail notification within 24 hours, or he/she will forfeit the prize. If the prize is not claimed within the time limit, an alternate winner will be selected from all remaining eligible entries. Winner will be required to execute and return, prior and as a condition to receiving the prize, an affidavit of eligibility and liability release and, except where prohibited by law, a publicity release. Failure to comply with these rules will cause prize to be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner. Prize is not transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash, and no substitutions are allowed (except by Sponsors due to prize unavailability, in which case a prize of equal or greater value will be substituted). Odds of winning the prize depend on the number of eligible entries received for the drawing. If (i) winner does not respond to prize notification in the timeframe stated, (ii) winner declines his or her prize, (iii) winner or winner’s guest fails to return the affidavit of eligibility and liability release within the timeframe stated or (iv) winner is unable to attend the event on the date specified, it will result in the disqualification of such winner and an alternate winner may be selected at Sponsors’ discretion. Sponsors will use reasonable efforts to pick an alternate winner but, in the event an alternate winner cannot be determined, the prize will go unawarded.
  4. DESCRIPTION OF PRIZE(S): One (1) Prize: Winner will receive a trip for winner and one (1) guest to Las Vegas, NV consisting of: (i) roundtrip coach air transportation on Southwest Airlines from Chicago Midway Airport to Las Vegas McCarran International Airport and (ii) two (2) nights’ standard hotel accommodations (one room, double occupancy) at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, NV (Approximate Retail Value: $600). Prize is subject to blackout periods and other restrictions may apply. Reservations must be made in the manner specified by Sponsors. Winner cannot assign or transfer the prize to another person and may not redeem the prize for cash or otherwise. No substitutions or exchanges will be provided, except that Sponsors may substitute the prize for one with an equal or greater retail value. All expenses not stated herein (including, but not limited to, taxes and fees on the prize, and other expenses incurred in connection with the redemption, receipt and/or use of the prize or participating in any prize-related activity) are the responsibility of the winner. No extension of event dates will be granted, except at Sponsors’ sole discretion. Room upgrades are not permitted. Travel must be completed prior to December 21, 2008.
  5. ADDITIONAL TERMS: Online entries by Internet will be declared made by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at time of entry. “Authorized account holder” is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, online service provider or other organization (e.g., business, education, institution, etc.) responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. Sponsors are not responsible for entries not received due to lost, failed, delayed or interrupted connections, including Internet/Web-server/network/phone-line connections or miscommunications, or other electronic malfunctions, computer or telephone, hardware or software failures, malfunctions, or garbled or jumbled transmissions; or due to lost, late, stolen, mutilated, illegible, incomplete, postage-due, or misdirected mail or entries. Sponsors reserve the right, in their sole discretion, to cancel or suspend the Internet portion of this sweepstakes should virus, bugs, unauthorized human intervention, or other causes beyond the control of Sponsors, in Sponsors’ sole opinion, corrupt the administration, security, fairness, or proper operation or play of the sweepstakes, in which case winner will be selected from Internet entries received prior to action taken and other forms of entry. All entries will become the property of Sponsors and will not be returned to the entrants.
  6. WINNER’S LIST: For winner information, visit http://chicago.comcastsportsnet.com or write to Farmers Insurance Presents “2008 Bracket Challenge” Sweepstakes c/o Comcast SportsNet, 350 N. Orleans Street, S1-100, Chicago, IL 60654 prior to July 31, 2008. Be sure to include the name of the sweepstakes for which you are inquiring.
  7. PUBLICITY: Winner acknowledges and agrees that as a condition of winning, if legally permissible, Sponsors and their respective agents, subsidiaries and affiliates have the right to publicize his/her name, likeness, city and state of residence, and fact that he/she won the sweepstakes, and all matters incidental thereto, without further compensation, authorization or remuneration.
  8. TAXES: All applicable local, state and federal taxes, if any, and any and all expenses not specified in these Official Rules are the sole responsibility of and will be paid for by winner.
  9. LIABILITY: By accepting the prize, winner agrees that Sponsors and their respective parents, subsidiaries and affiliates and the agents, employees, directors and officers of any of the above entities, will have no liability whatsoever for any injuries, losses or damages of any kind incurred in connection with or resulting from acceptance, possession or use/misuse of any prize, or while traveling to, preparing for and/or participating in this sweepstakes or any prize-related activity.
  10. The decision of Sponsors will be final in all matters pertaining to the sweepstakes. Sponsors reserve the right to correct any and all printing, typographical or mechanical errors.
  11. All federal, state and local laws apply. Void where prohibited or restricted by law.
